The S3A brings solids concentration and sludge-settlement measurements together in one sample-based instrument. It is intended for activated-sludge wastewater treatment, including SBR, MBR and Anammox processes.

What the S3A measures.
The analyser reports connected operational measurements rather than treating suspended-solids concentration as the whole picture. Review them together and alongside wider process information.

The specified MLSS range is 50 to 6,500 mg/L, with stated accuracy of ±10%. A representative sample is essential for a useful result.
Settlement results
The unattended cycle records SVI, settled sludge level, supernatant clarity and floating sludge after 30 minutes.
Optional stirred results
With the optional stirrer, the S3A can also provide stirred sludge volume index and stirred settled sludge level. Keep stirred and unstirred methods identified when comparing trends.
Designed around the operator’s route.
Portability helps teams take the instrument to appropriate sampling locations, but it does not remove the need for a consistent sampling point, preparation method and site procedure.
01 / Start the test
Prepare a representative sample
Fill the S3A tube with a representative 210 ml sample and begin the measurement. The instrument provides the rapid MLSS result before continuing the settlement cycle.
02 / Review the result
Return after the cycle
The operator can continue other work during the 30-minute test, then review the completed concentration and settlement results stored at the instrument.
Check suitability before specification.
The S3A stores up to 28 completed results for each of three locations with date and time information. Optional MODBUS RTU over two-wire RS-485 allows a compatible client system to poll supported readings. Specify the option when ordering; PMA can confirm the data and integration required. Dashboards and network integration are configured by the client.
The instrument is for safe-area operational use. It is not a continuous online suspended-solids monitor or a substitute for required final-effluent compliance testing.
